[REVIEW][GLACIER][JB] Dark JellyBelly v3

First off, a special thanks to ...Awesome... for making this great rom.

Performance:
Its great, I could really feel the fluidity of the AOKP build. I thought it was better than the ports in terms of performance, if you like the performance of Dark Unicorn Resurrected, you'll love this. Also, the kernel is freaking awesome but i must say, i do prefer the Grapefruit kernel.

Asthetics:
Same old Same old. Its basic jellybean stuff. What i don't like is the navigation bar at the bottom that CANNOT be removed. I know that ...Awesome... is working on it but it was the main reason that i left the rom. I really couldn't deal with all that wasted screen space when there are hardware buttons. If you have a problem with this like i do, i suggest against flashing this rom.

Battery Life:
The kernel/rom combo produced battery life i little worse than ICS but it was great. I was able to get through the day with no issues, about 2.5 hours of screen time, mostly texting people.

Things I loved:
-A lot of options in Aroma, that was done well
-The Kernel, that thing is great
-Performance

Things I didn't like:
-Inferno Apps. What the hell ...Awesome...? The web browser is horrible, the first thing i did was deleted the .apk and you should too

Things I can't live with:
-THE NAV BAR

Final Thoughts:

If you are ok with the nav bar and want a Jellybean rom, this is for you. If you don't like the nav bar, still give it a try but make sure you have a nandroid of your favorite rom.

Great job ...Awesome...!

[GLACIER][UPDATE] Battery Life on Codename Android port

Well guys, its not that great. I am using the grapefruit kernel which i'll write a review on tomorrow and i wasn't able to squeeze out more than 1.5 hours of screen time which is pretty bad for a non-sense rom. If any of you guys disagree, let me know, i might be doing something wrong. The rom is solid though and it'll survive the entire day with light-moderate use and i still recommend the rom :)

[GLACIER] InsertCoin Review

What do you get when you combine the simplicity of sense 2.1 with sense 3.0 widgets and locksreen? Pure excellence. This is what InsertCoin strives to achieve with the power of the ultra-refined Gingerbread and Sense UI. This rom has been ported for the Glacier by Team PermaBrick, now here is the review.

Performance:
Well, it is a gingerbread rom so expect nothing but the best, this rom delivers, i was easily able to play games like Dead Trigger but battery life suffered. The UI was quick and clean, not Jellybean quick but very responsive. Kernel is great, very refined, i was able to run it with stock cpu settings (1ghz.)

Asthetics:
This rom included a sense 4 clock knockoff which looks exactly like the actual sense 4 clock, its great and really adds to the look of the UI. I have discovered that this clock also works on AOSP and AOKP roms so i have it on the rom that i am currently running, it looks great. As i said, it combines sense 2.1 and 3.0 and this rom really brings it in terms of asthetics without sacrificing performance. It doesn't look quite as good as full sense 4 but is on the same level.

Battery Life:
ITS INCREDIBLE. I was able to squeeze out more than 3 hours of screen time and 21 hours of standby.

Peeves:
-Sticky Keys, its a kernel issue but should be noted.
-Widget Menu is VERY slow to pop up
-Live Wallpapers kill performance on this rom, i don't know why, havn't experienced it before

Conclusion:
I highly recommend this rom as a fallback and something to keep a backup of on your SD card, The rom is very reliable and a joy to use. On the flipside, it might be a little same old same old and i found myself wanting more features like google now and everything that ICS brings to the table. All in All, a worthy replacement to stock and TDJ Darkside Sense.

[GLACIER] Codename Android v3.3.2 port Review

Hey Guys, Hitesh here reviewing Codename Android [JB] port by 0.0. Its an awesome rom and will be broken down into sections. I will not go indepth with performance because that is fueled by an amazing kernel by Synthetic.Nightmare

Performance:
Its great. Although its not comparable to other ICS roms, its still pretty awesome for a port. Games like Dead Trigger are a bit choppy but normal games run just fine. The battery life takes a major hit though, probably due to the slight incompatibility between the kernel and the OS.

UI:
It looks beautiful, pretty run of the mill JellyBean stuff. The launcher is Trebuchet which is a great launcher, it comes with a lot of options but not as many as Apex or Nova, I personally prefer Trebuchet over the competition because its stays close to stock without distorting the search bar or making the phone look ugly. The UI is quick and responsive, not 60 FPS but that can be fixed with kernel 3.0 which is expected to drop soon.

Tweaks:
Since the Rom is based on CM10, the features do not disappoint. Everything from performance to status bar settings.

My Suggestions:
Go to Settings-Dev Settings and force GPU Rendering on the UI, that speeds things up by a lot. Also, SetCPU makes a lot of difference in this rom, profiles help, use a tweaked ondemand governor.

Gripes:
Rom Installation is a little confusing, ill make it simple for you guys

Dev Host is down, i'll post links when it comes back up.

Nexus 7 - One month of ownership

Overall Impression
After owning the Nexus 7 for one month, I have got to say that it is the best tablet I have ever used, not to mention the low price point of $200.

Negative Reviews
Although there is a lot of negative reviews online about "screen-lifting" and "backlight errors", most of these claims are inflated, think about it, people only post if something bad goes on.  If you happen to get a Nexus with one of these problems, Google will refund you.

Form and Design
Out of the box you get a gorgeous tablet.  At first I thought that the bezel was a bit large, but it gives you a good grip to hold on to your device.  It also has a rubber back that feels nice and snug in your hand.  There are only three physical buttons, Power, Volume Up, Volume Down.  And only three soft buttons Back, Home, and Multitask.  Honestly I miss the search button, but to most people, that was useless.  Google also supplys you with some "starter media" that gives you some free Google Play store content.

Tech Specs
The speed of this device is unmatched for $200.  A 1.3GHz Quad core Cortex-A9. 12 Core Nvidia GeForce GPU. 1.2 MP front-facing camera. 1280x800 screen (216 ppi). 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM. Built in NFC and Bluetooth.

Performance
It is buttery smooth and lag free.  Every game runs beautifully.  The battery lasts for a good two days too with moderate usage.

Rooting
Rooting is awesome, yet so useless.  After rooting my Nexus 7 and installing recovery, I said to myself, "what now?".  The best ROM for Nexus 7 is, believe it or not, stock.  No other ROM runs as fast as stock.

Value
$200 - $10 of free e-magazines  - $10 of free e-books - $20 Transformers movie - $10 of music - $25 of play store credit - $10 free Google prepaid card for Google Wallet = $115.  Plus the device costs Google about $140 to manufacture.  A magnificent value.

Jellytime Inspire4g/DesireHD

Concise Review

As the HTC Ace starts to show signs of age, it starts to lose its luster.  Typically someone would start looking for a new phone, but I have found a ROM that breathes new life into this "legacy" device.  "Jellytime Inspire4g/DesireHD" offers the newest android operating system for the HTC Ace.  It is very fast, though not as fast as Gingerbread, and works very well.  I assume you are familiar with Jellybean, so I will try to avoid reviewing the actual OS, but reviewing the ROM itself.  It's camera works, but is glitchy.  It comes with almost no bloatware, not even gapps, and it gives the user a very clean and up to date feel. The author of the ROM also keeps it very up to date and releases a new version every few days.
